3. Electrical or Electronic Engineering Technician - average $47,163.

4. Registered Nurse - average $55,276.

5. Computer Support Specialist - average $46,111.

6. Executive or Administrative Assistant - average $37,669.

7. Dental Hygienist - average $57,148.

8. Surveying or Mapping Technician - average $42,104.

9. Veterinary Technician - average $33,363.

10. Camera Operator - average $42,558.

A very timely post given

A very timely post given that over the next few years I believe that somewhere between 1/3 to 1/2 of all Americans currently working in IT fields will permanently lose those jobs to shutdowns, downsizing, off-shoring, outsourcing or to cheaper imported workers. Its too bad that most of those pay a bit less than the old IT jobs used to (although IT salaries are getting down there), but if you've got two spouses working maybe a family could get by alright on those kinds of careers.
