Timothy Draper’s Rose-Colored Glasses

“...the next 8 to 10 years are going to be the greatest venture capital years in the history of the world,” ~ Tim Draper at the International Business Forum venture capital conference in San Francisco on Thursday.
Others are neither so hopeful nor do they think the United States will lead. The lead on the New York Times blog about Draper's speech and the future of venture capitalism is "Timothy Draper’s Rose-Colored Glasses."

Draper obviously has a very extreme view. Others in the same business, seeing the same conditions, do not share it ;~)
Of course many extreme views in the past have proven close or closer to future reality than less extreme ones.
Funny to think there might be venture capitalists on every corner like Starbucks or State Farm Insurance. That's "funny" in the bizarre use of the word.

Even Draper does not expect
Even Draper does not expect that venture capital to be invested in the good old USA:
"Most of the promising new entrepreneurs and investors will be outside the United States, Mr. Draper added, the only time he sounded the least bit dreary."
