In the Olympic spirit, do you think someone can develop new game software to let me play Curling on my computer?

Wonder what other Olympic game apps can be developed.

That would be fun. My first thought is that the physics would be very similar to those used on computer pool games, just taking into account the fact that the stones weigh 44 pounds. Also, friction would need to be dependent (somehow) on the ability of the brushers to clean the ice. Model that and you're all set! ;)

You have to imagine someone has developed this already for the Wii. Or even the Winter Olympics for the Wii. I assert this without having googled yet.

I don't (and won't) own a Wii. I just thought it was sort of funny that people will sit (as I did yesterday) watching a curling match (with 10 "ends" in it), and not have the foggiest idea of the reason they're sweeping the ice.

What's a "google?"

You might reconsider on the Wii. It is the game console for the non-gamer and has more adult and family friendly games than PS3 or XBox 360. It does a much better job at some kinds of games than the PC platform can right now, mainly due to its controller system. There are also several titles which include curling available for the Wii including "Family Party: 30 Great Games Winter Fun" by D3 Publishing, "Mountain Sports" by ActiVision and "Celebrity Sports Showdown" by Freestyle Games.

Once again, you're right.

Once again, you're right. But I've been trying to avoid spending the money on something that I really don't need. Besides, I might find myself playing the boxing game with my wife (and since she's a born Texan, she'd probably win).

Actually my wife and I do enjoy the boxing game, but not nearly so much as the bowling game. Even though I bowl as bad on Wii as in real life. Alas. It is still fun though.

Actually I bowl better on the Wii than I ever would in real life. :) And there's something exciting about knocking down a hundred pins at a time...

It includes Curling among a bunch of other sports.

I fear that Wii technology (unlike the Mercedes auto) has not advanced to the point of detecting instances of microsleep in the user. Where it able to do so, electroshock could be administered through the handset to mitigate instances of narcolepsy and the resulting danger of rug burns and excessive drooling. ;)

Ha! I don't foresee me purchasing the electroshock Wii adapter...
