Facebook devouring the Web

Chart of the Day

You tell me whether this is good or bad. I'm not that fond of Facebook, and consider it to be an open playground for malicious behavior as well as often a time waster. In some ways, though, it's doing some good, and I even co-manage a page there for Coonhound Companions that has been reasonably successful.

So, what's the verdict? Is the Web going to a very hot place in a handbasket? Or is this a Brave New World? Or am I just an olde fogey who doesn't "get" it?

Facebook helps me stay up

Facebook helps me stay up with my kids, grandkids and other relatives. We have deployed military famly members and it is nice to be in touch with them wherever they are. But..........I agree, Facebook is a time sponge and one has to either develop the discipline to ignore it or succumb to the desire to post inane stuff.

Facebook has been incredibly

Facebook has been incredibly successful in recent years, but that doesn't mean the trend will continue. Google came out with a competing social network recently that combines popular features of FB with more useful stuff. There will be others as well, some more successful than others.

On the Web, nothing is forever.

I have had a love hate

I have had a love hate relationship for too many years. love to keep in touch with friends and family, renewing old acquaintances, hate getting hooked into it and wasting so much time.

I wonder how long it will be until the SQL server finally grinds to a halt?
