We need more detail.
1) What are your degrees?
2) What are your certs?
3) What are you wanting to do?
4) Does your military experience relate to 3? (We former enlisted are terrible at selling our skills--what was your rank?)
Unfortunately as you've
Unfortunately as you've undoubtedly noticed the tech job market in Austin is pretty weak these days. That means that you've got to be patient and work extra hard at your job search, especially if you don't have a 4 year degree or a lot of business world work experience on your resume. You are on the right track with networking, since many positions are filled without being advertised when the market is like this. That said, you should leave no stone unturned which means searching all of the job sites and applying for or inquiring about all the jobs to which you are at least an 80% match or so. You probably won't get a response from most of them, but you may get lucky, especially if you run into a hiring manager with a military background or something that like that who might be more willing to give you a chance.
Some questions to ask yourself... What kind of response rate are you getting (and like I've said, don't get discouraged if it seems bad -- times are just like that right now)? If you are sending out your resume but not getting call backs, maybe your resume and/or cover letter (you are sending a customized cover letter aren't you?) needs help. You may need to even customize your resume for some positions if your background is varied enough that you are interested in more than one kind of job. If you are getting callbacks but not interviews, maybe you need some coaching (or self-help reading) on your phone interview skills. If you are getting interviews, but not getting the job, maybe you need some help with your interviewing skills.

Post your resume, you'll get more and better responses.
