GTA spamming door64 members?

The unique email address I use exclusively in connection with this site was apparently culled by Michelle Naquin of the Green Technology Alliance (GTA) and used to send me unsolicited bulk email.

I likely would not have taken exception if I had instead been contacted via this site with an invitation to subscribe to the GTA Newsletter.

Has anyone (everyone?) else been added to the GTA mailing list?

I don't immediately see how this could have been done; is matt/door64 sharing/selling our email addresses?

No GTAs on me.

Very strange.

I haven't been spammed by anyone I could trace back to here... yet anyway. I don't think that Matt would sell us out like that.

You don't "think???" Think? Of course he would not do that!

I didn't mean to indicate that there was any doubt on my part... It was just bad phrasing.

I have not seen GTA or any other spam mail that could have come from this site.
Matt and door64 have been good.

Well, you're right - I guard your e-mail addresses with my life; never have given them out.

@johnlogic Are you sure you never signed up on their email list? I know Michelle wouldn't spam folks. Have you tried unsubscribing? Let me know if you're having problems and I'll put you in contact with Michelle stat.

Thanks Matt; I didn't think you'd let our email addresses out.

To be fair, I've been getting the GTA newsletter for months and only noticed it was going to my door64 address when I unsubscribed today. I'm on a *lot* of business-related mailing lists, and GTA seems pretty benign. It just seemed very strange to be getting the GTA messages to my door64 address, so I thought I'd ask.

That is strange indeed. Just to reiterate, I have not given out anyone's email address.

I just saw this post and wanted to respond personally. The ONLY way you would be in the GTA list from Door64 was if you registered for an event through that email or through the Door64 event registration and specifically asked to be notified of other events. We use icontact so you can unsubscribe at any time. Matt has never and never would sell, distribute or share his list. Nor does the GTA, only information from people who register for our FREE events are provided to sponsors of the event.

The email address I use with door64 apparently got propagated to GTA, probably through my own action. My memory often fails me, so that's why I asked.

Michelle, I'd like to offer a public apology to you and GTA: I'm sorry for unjustly calling you out on this one.

I appreciate you and Matt keeping everything on the up and up...

No worries, and truly no apology necessary. We all have muddy memories. I just wanted you to know that neither door64 or the GTA ever sell our lists. Despite the short term revenue that might generate. ;-))
