Integrating into the whole...embedding agile processes into all aspects of S1's business model
S1 Enterprise, an independent division of S1 Corporation, is a provider of multi-channel banking solutions for front-office applications, has been on an agile journey for over two years now. This experience report will discuss how S1 leveraged Agile to effectively re-design our software delivery process. The resulting delivery system, while far from perfect, is considered a strategic competitive advantage in our market space.
The session will focus on recounting the journey, trials and tribulations, and failures by addressing three key questions. Each question will be addressed not just in the context of engineering but rather all of the facets involved in delivering value to our customer base. This includes discussion from the point of view of product management, sales, marketing, professional services, hosting, production support, customer service, and finance.
Questions we answer:
• How did we know Agile was right for us? (How things worked before and why we moved to Agile).
• How did we implement Agile and what were change curves? (For sales, prod. mangement, marketing, etc)
• Where are we planning on taking this? (How we intend to improve throughput over other touted agile shops)
