Linked Open Data and City of Austin
Topic: Panel Discussion on Linked Open Data and the City of Austin
Date: Monday February 15
Time: 6:00-7:30 (networking from 6-6:30)
Place: TBD
The objective of this panel and meetup is to discuss the use of Linked Data for City of Austin's data. With the recently kick-off meeting about the new city's website, we are right on time to start this discussion. The panelist will be:
- Carla Thompson (Guidewire Group) is the VP of Community Strategy and Engagement at Guidewire Group. She analyzes what startups are doing in the semantic web space. So if we need somebody to tell us about the reality of current semantic web startups, Carla is the person to go to!
- Flip Kromer (Infochimps) If there is something we need to know about how to manage large amounts of data, Flip is our guy!
- Zach Richardson (Locus) just recently won first place at the first Linked Data Product Development Lab organized by MIT. So if we need to know how we can make a business model and money with linked data, Zach is our guy!
- Brownell Chalstrom (Open Austin) is one of the brains behind OpenAustin and has been doing semantic web development for the last 10 years.
- Doug Matthews (City of Austin) is the chief communications director from the City of Austin.
