Open Party - to increase community participation in Linux and Free Software concerns! We are going on the coattails of SXSW Interactive held in downtown Austin!

We want ANYONE and EVERYONE who is willing to learn community contribution ideas. From Austin or OUT OF TOWN! The Free Software Foundation has been around for 25 years! It is far more than Linux and we want to spread the word about the needs and resources of the Austin community.

Who is leading this party? YOU! We are providing food and drinks, but you have to come and participate. Talk, mingle, ask questions.

Free Internet WiFi, free electricity, free tables are being provided by Texas Coworking.

Who is responsible for marketing, training, promotion of Linux and free software?! YOU, donate your time, donate your energy - come spread the word and make noise!

Patents, copyrights, closed solutions, DRM - all good topics - but it's more. Who is contributing graphics, usability, new ideas to GUI of Linux and other products?

Come and go as you wish, there are no formal presentations planned (unless you want to do one!), it's an "open house" party. Come and use your laptop and relax and socialize. RSVP not required, but it would help us in planning food (Thank you to Dell for donation) and drinks.

Beer, wine, rum, tequila will be provided free of charge. Carpools and designated drivers should be organized by you - be responsible and careful. We will check ID's, we don't want trouble with the law ;)
