door64 Austin Meet-up
This informal door64 meet-up is open to any door64 member interested in meeting other members and improving the door64 community. Come on out to network and have a good time in a relaxed, fun, and social atmosphere.

Reason:
First, I would be excited to meet you (especially if we haven't met already). It's rather difficult to track down 7000+ people, you know. Both existing and brand new door64 members are most welcome to attend!
Secondly, I constantly aim to take the door64 community in a direction that best serves our members. I would much rather brainstorm with friends about how to achieve this, and these meet-ups can also serve that purpose.

Going to try to make it, but
Going to try to make it, but I'll coming from Georgetown Area so it all depends on road conditions. This will be my first event as well. I wear many hats: I'm part of a small IT Manged Services business in Houston, and will be looking to expand into Austin. In addition, I am a self help Guru, with a book in the final stages of publication. I'll be doing some public speaking for a few organizations in the near future, as well as looking for places I can teach classes based on the books principles. I'm a System Admin, and Technical Trainer by profession, so in addition to the above, I am looking to network for any possible contract work in course ware development, or process planning.

I recently finished 34 years with Motorola, the last 11 as a VP and I'm looking for something interesting and productive to do here in Austin. I'm a problem solver by nature. I've been a researcher or research lead in wireless, systems and protocols, digital signal processing, and security technology. I've lead development teams doing wireless products, lead architecture teams doing chipsets for cellular, and I've been in business development roles that involved technology licensing. I've got 27 US patents and have been involved in patent processes and recently managed the Motorola Labs portfolio of over 1000 patents. I've had recent experience in the processes around safe and effective use of open source software.
