CHI (Computer-Human Interaction) Conference: Local's Night

__________________________________________________________
CHI, the premier international conference on human-computer interaction is coming to Austin, and you can take part!
On Tuesday, May 8th, from 5-8:30pm the conference opens up to Austinites on Local's Night. This special admission lets you take in the interactivity showcase with more than 50 installations of technology demos, digital art and other thought provoking interactive experiences, including Roger Ibars' Hard Wired Devices collection - vintage control devices that explore the interface culture of computer gaming and home appliances. At 7pm the showcase closes and you'll be invited to a special evening showing of the CHI video program, combined with a welcome to CHI.
It's a bit expensive to attend the full conference (currently $960), but Local's Night is kept affordable as a thank you to the local tech community.
