Title: Client-Side MVC: The Next Big Thing for Enterprise Application Development
Date/Time: Wednesday, June 20th, 2012, 6:30 - 8:45 pm
Sign-Up: https://meetings.vtools.ieee.org/meeting_view/list_meeting/12115

Abstract:
Paul will talk through an industry trend that sees the migration of the coding of web applications servers to clients. For this new "Client-Side MVC" way of constructing applications, he will go over the alternate technologies for implementing it, suggest the complementary server-side technology choices and illustrate the developer throughput gains from adopting these technologies. Paul will show a client-side MVC application, and demonstrate the use of Selenium (the de facto standard QA automation tool) for the testing of it.

Speaker:
Paul Hammant: Principal Consultant, programmer, Open-Source enthusiast, and pundit for ThoughtWorks for 10 years. ThoughtWorks has pioneered Agile methodologies in the enterprise for since the start of 1999. Paul and ThoughtWorks have also pioneered Dependency Injection (DI), functional web-app testing, and general app-dev best practices for many years.
