Registration Opens for Clean Energy Venture Summit
Conference at UT’s AT&T Executive Conference Center to Highlight “Clean Energy” Economic Opportunity as Legislators Prepare for 2009 Session

(October 22, 2008 – Austin) Registration opened today for the second annual Clean Energy Venture Summit, to be held at the University of Texas’ AT&T Executive Conference Center December 2-4, 2008. The Summit is organized by the University’s Austin Technology Incubator and Austin Energy.

This year’s Summit theme is “How can Texas Win in the New Energy Economy?” and will feature keynotes and panel discussions with national and state leaders within the clean energy industry, including power generators, investors, regulators, professors, entrepreneurs and policy experts.

“The new energy boom is underway globally and nationally,” said Isaac Barchas, director of the Austin Technology Incubator. “Texas is in a great position to capitalize, but it needs support from elected leaders. The speakers at this year’s summit will outline the economic opportunity for Texas and provide recommendations to the legislature as it prepares for the 2009 session.”

Last year’s event attracted a capacity crowd and was the most blogged clean energy event of 2007. Attendees are encouraged to register early. Media will be granted press passes but must register early as the number of passes is limited.
