Please join us for this informative webinar featuring Glenn O’Donnell of world-renowned Forrester Research. He will articulate that there is a “much better way” than scripting for repetitive I.T. tasks and that many processes in the data center are now automated. He will discuss market trends around Data Center Automation as well as his direct experience with global IT shops in this area.

Phurnace Software VP of Products, Daniel Nelson, will follow up with a brief presentation of how application deployments can be automated with specialized software vs. hand-crafted scripts. Daniel will discuss auto-configuration of web application servers and how major corporations are now automating the movement of J2EE apps from dev to test to production.

Glenn O'Donnell, Forrester Research, Senior Analyst
Glenn serves IT Infrastructure & Operations professionals. He is widely regarded as a top thought leader in IT service management, IT operations, and the broader social implications of technology evolution. Glenn's specialties are in data center automation and operational excellence. He is the coauthor of a book on CMDB best practices (to be published soon).
Prior to joining Forrester, Glenn was a major force in transforming EMC's resource management software business as a marketing lead and strategic contributor. He is also a former analyst at META Group, where his research interests were similar to his current Forrester responsibilities. Most of Glenn's career encompassed 21 years in various companies within the Bell System, including Western Electric, Bell Labs, AT&T, and finally, Lucent Technologies, where he held increasingly influential roles in technology development, IT operations, and enterprise architecture.

Daniel Nelson, Phurnace Software, Vice President of Products
Daniel serves as Vice President, Products and is one of the original founders of the company. He is responsible for all aspects of product management including innovation and product line expansion. Daniel has over ten years of experience in the software development field, eight of which are in senior management positions in operations, project management, and quality assurance at innovative early-stage software companies such as Isochron Data, drkoop.com, the Cobalt Group, NetObjects, and SurfWatch Software. Daniel has spent the last six years working specifically with Java EE™ technologies. Daniel has a B.A. and an M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin. His idea and business plan for Phurnace Software, Inc. won him the coveted Moot Corp. Award in 2006 from the University of Texas competition.
