Austin Software Process Improvement Network (ASPIN) Meeting
Panel Discussion: Implementing CMMI-based Process improvement for Small Organizations

January 15th

Abstract:
Many presentations on software process improvement under CMMI initiatives are from the perspective of the SEPG lead managing the initiative for a division or the entire corporation. Our panel will instead look at lessons learned from the perspective of the people that have to produce the process materials. The functional managers of the development teams along with cross-functional program/project managers have to produce the product or service and at the same time be in compliance with the CMMI process improvement initiative. The panel will discuss from their experience where CMMI process improvement initiatives helped the development team and where it hindered them.

Jorge Boria will be facilitating the panel. Karen Ulferts and Roy
Deegan will be panel members.
