Hi John, Appreciate your

Hi John,

Appreciate your feedback.

Why we have $ 100/year membership as a criteria to present Biz plans at Funding Forum:

1. It aids in getting serious motivated candidates for Funding forum.
2. TiE is been organizing Funding Forum for the past 4 years with quality Investors , VC's, banker's, academicians in UT premise.
3. TiE is a Not- for- Profit organization, infact the world's largest non-profit fostering entrepreneurship. Apart from discounted rates for all TiE events, $ 100/year gives following FREE services
a. Mentoring services
b. Access to Microsoft Biz Spark program,
c. Networking events
d. A chance to present your Biz Plan's to VC's, Banker's and Angel investor's without paying an arm and leg or doing the sweat work to make the initial contact.
e. Access to member's in 53 chapters across 12 countries.

So you can see a $ 100/ Year/ Member is more of a benefit to an individual and in turn to the local economy on a larger scale ( If the member goes ahead and start's a venture) than to a NON-PROFIT( TiE)Organization.

I will be happy to answer any of your queries. Please email me at ed.austin@austin.tie.org

Membership is $100/year, and

Membership is $100/year, and required both to attend the event and to pitch.

It seems logical to me that requiring membership to pitch ideas could limit the pool of submissions, perhaps more to the benefit of the organization than to the local economy.

Granted, $100 does seem pretty trivial when seeking millions, but so does buying a lottery ticket, and that requires a lot less work.

I'd appreciate your comments.
