No Cost ITIL Foundations Certification

Workforce Solutions just approved the ITIL V3 Foundations Certification program at St. Edward's University Professional Education Center.

The WIA (Workforce Investment Act)is a no-cost employment program designed to give job seekers the support and/or skills training they need to find a job. The program offers financial assistance to eligible individuals for job search assistance, training, and other support services through funding from the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) program.

The Information Technology Infrastructure Library(ITIL) offers eight sets of management procedures in eight books: service delivery, service support, service management, ICT infrastructure management, software asset management, business perspective, security management and application management. ITIL is a good fit for organizations concerned about operations.

If you qualify, the costs of the ITIL V3 Certification will be covered by the program. To see if you could qualify, visit: http://www.wfscapitalarea.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=display_....

The web page about the class

The web page about the class is kind of acronym alphabet soup. You might want to include some links to something that explains what ITIL and ITSM are all about for those who might not know:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ITIL_v3
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IT_service_management

Some other information that would be useful would be an explanation of what kind of jobs these certifications would be useful in getting.

Oh... one other thing that is sort of buried on Workforce Solutions web page is the information about the WIA and how to know if you qualify:

Excellent... I don't (yet)

Excellent... I don't (yet) qualify for WIA, but it sounds like an interesting class. Thanks for offering something to help the people who've been affected by this downturn and all the resulting layoffs. Maybe this can make a difference for someone who is looking for a new job.

We are working on a few

We are working on a few other certification Bootcamps (MCTS-Windows Server) and MCDST & A+). Just waiting for the WIA final approval before "officially" announcing. I really look forward to helping people do some rapid reskilling and hopefully getting them back out in the work place.

Will you ever be offering

Will you ever be offering any non-Microsoft certification training? I'm thinking about stuff like Cisco, Sun, Java, Red Hat, Linux+, other LAMP technologies (PHP, Python, Ruby), etc.?

We currently offer Java

We currently offer Java Courses & Red Hat Courses & Certifications on our public schedule. (http://www.seupec.com/classSchedule.asp) and we have a few just confirmed Java courses not on the schedule (LP340 & LP130.

We will be sumbitting our applications for CISCO CCNA, CCDA and CCNP Certifications along with Linux certifications to WIA. However, I would not expect to see them announced for about two months because of the time it takes to prepare, submit and get approved.

It's good to hear that you

It's good to hear that you will be offering some more variety in the future for those of us who don't work in Microsoft technologies. As I said I don't yet qualify for WIA, but in a few months I might, so I will check back to see if those other classes get approved.
