iPhone development connections

I've recently started developing for iPhone on the side. I am an experienced game programmer (If your browser supports Java plugins check out http://arcade.connersc.com) and would like to work closely with other experienced individuals.

I am already underway on development of my first title, using OpenGL and C++.

This is definitely a passion of mine, so if anyone would like to get together to discuss working on a project, my current one or other mobile/web development project, lets start a discussion here to possibly get organized.

I view this endeavor as something that will grow beyond iPhone games to include other applications, mobile platforms, as well as web design and application programming for other small businesses in the area.

Are there other freelancer/entrepreneurs out there that could benefit from a small, dedicated team?

Scott,

Do you know about Cocoa Coders that meet every Thursday night @Conjunctured?

I and some friends have a small iPhone consultancy. I'm happy to discuss what you're doing.

Thanks for the reply!

I just recently heard about Cocoa Coders. As I try to nuzzle my way into the scene and see how things work, and learn to recognize the right types of events for me, this is one I will continue to look at. I am going to the Tech Fair tomorrow so maybe there will be a presence there.

You do development work contractually for iPhone? I would be very interested in discussing this, as I know quite a few people looking for (quality) iPhone application developers.

How does your consultancy work? Do you actually do the developement, seek out contracts or have them come to you? I'm curious.

Working on mobile applications in my spare time outside of the 40 hours I put in at IBM is a great way to bootstrap self employment. I will probably attend the Cocoa Coders meeting tomorrow after the Tech Fair. Thanks for the heads up!

Anyone else still trying to make connections regarding iPhone development?

I am also interested in the

I am also interested in the local iPhone dev community. I am currently working on a couple of iPhone apps... some for fun, some for potential profit. I would be very interested to talk to anyone who has leads for contract iPhone development.

Is the Cocoa Coder's meeting open to anyone? If so, I will try to go tomorrow.

I am also interested in iPhone development! I haven't programmed much since college and when I did it was Visual FoxPro or Visual Studio... so I have a long way to go. I would like to meet others who might be interested in partnerships or have sources for contract development for iPhone apps. The "shared risk - shared gain" idea sounds like a great idea.

Great. I plan to attend the coders group meeting next week
and hope to hook up with you all. I have been tossing around
ideas related to forming a iPhone developers alliance or an
incubator, so that one can work in small teams but yet benefit
from the wisdom of the group.

I'm currently developing a couple of apps ... have a team of 8
folks, mostly outsourced.

Please shoot your ideas on how something like that could benefit
you.

Looks like next week's Cocoa Coders meeting is going to be a bit larger.

I can tell there is a lot of interest in iPhone development, so I hope to see you all there. I'll have a code sample of what I've been working on on my phone too!

See you guys there. :)

I will get to one of these

I will get to one of these at some point, but I don't have a car at the moment.

Just wanted to throw my hat in as an interested iPhone/Facebook developer/startup (unfunded as of yet :( ) who is looking for business side (and possibly other team members) people.

Check out http://zeolitestudios.com for what we are working on and http://unity3d.com for the engine we plan to use.
