door64 Help

Well, first off, if you haven't a clue what this site is all about, you may want to read this little story and quasi-mission statement.

The Top Menu

I'll tell you about the features of door64 -- why in the world you might want to use it:

1. Forums - These are threaded discussions between door64 members about most any topic. For example, in the What's Happening forum, feel free to ask your colleagues around town about what you observe in the local job market, or use the Tech-talk forum to chat about functional testbench architectures, methods of performance assessment, or any other technical topic.

2. Event Calendar - A calendar of local events, updated by you and me. If you hear about a professional event in Central Texas, or a conference, seminar series, mixer, etc., just enter it in for all to see. The goal is for this to be your one-stop shop for what's going on in our local high-tech community.

3. Jobs - This section is a career center for finding and posting jobs, as well as for job seekers to advertise their skill sets for potential employment.

4. Blogs - All members can blog for free. What to write about? Whatever you like. It's your soap box.

5. Feeds - This is a collection of syndicated news from various local and technical sources. Austin news, ever-changing technology news from sites like Slashdot or Digg, hardware news from EETimes and others, and software news from Dr. Dobbs Architecture & Design and others are all aggregated here. If you have newsfeed suggestions or other ideas, contact me.

6. Links - Just a list of useful links we've assembled and categorized. If you have favorite ones you'd like to share, just post a comment on that page and we'll get it listed.

The Left Menu

1. My blog - View/edit your own blog posts.

2. My account - View/edit your own door64 account/profile information. You can edit your Professional Info, and relevant information if you work in staffing or recruiting.

2. Site activity - See what's new on door64 (in terms of forum posts, events, jobs, etc.) since you last looked.

3. Site members - List all the members of door64.

4. Help - This screen.

5. Log out - Just what it says.
