Sr. Software Engineer

Spansion's worldwide (WW) Application Engineering team supports our WW customer base with systems and software technical expertise in an effort to ensure our mutual success. The team consists of a small number of very experienced and energetic software engineers. Our typical engineer has a background in embedded system software development. We need to add one software engineer to our Austin office.
Our primary responsibility is to identify and solve hardware and software issues related to the use of Flash in customer systems. In some cases we will develop our customer's software drivers. Our experience and software expertise also enable us to contribute to the design phase of the product life cycle within Spansion. We create tools for both internal and external customers. Our internal development activities ensure our software skills are current and our Flash knowledge is impeccable.
The ideal candidate will be an efficient software developer with a history of being the "go to" person. A technology related bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and training plus 7 years of related experience. A proven record of technical leadership in systems software design is required. An advanced degree may reduce the minimum experience required.
Additional requirements include:
o Expert in C/C++, Visual Basic and Microsoft Visual Studio environment
o Analytical and debugging skills are a must
o Oscilloscope and logic analyzer skills are a must
o Multiple CPU, controller, or chip set knowledge
o Multiple RTOS expertise, Linux a plus
o Bootloader development experience a plus
o BSP experience on multiple platforms
o NOR/NAND Flash experience a plus, but not mandatory
o Verilog, System C & System Verilog, OVM, UVM experience a plus
o FPGA, CPLD development experience a plus
o Technical documentation skills are a plus
