Our client is currently searching for a Java Applications Administrator. This job requires a high
level of expertise in systems administration, monitoring, patching, configuration and tuning of application servers and its various components. The successful candidate will be responsible for routine operations, monitoring and maintenance of all environments (dev, test, stage, prod). Work with Senior Systems and Applications Administrators on day-to-day operations, but have the ability to think and work independently, as needed. Participate in project development and be responsible for applications and server requirements, design, implementation and support. The ability to multi-task and support various environments is a definite plus.

Day-to-Day Activities:
? Monitor and troubleshoot production and non-production application servers
? Install, configure and tuning of application servers
? Deploy application, libraries, property files as needed
? Create and maintain scripts for monitoring and administration automations
? Work with development, dba teams in troubleshooting

Qualifications: 

Position-specific Required Skills:

? Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related fields
? At least 3-5 years WebLogic administration experience. This includes but not limited to:
installation, configuration, tuning, deployments, and monitoring.
? At least 3-5 years systems administration support of n-tier web-enabled e-Commerce application
environments and technologies.
? At least 1-3 years Oracle SOA administration experience (10g and 11g). This includes but not limited
to: installation, configuration, tuning, deployments, and monitoring.
? At least 3 years Apache/Tomcat administration experience
? Proficient in Unix/Linux environment
? Proficient in UNIX shell scripting and commands
? Proficient in wlst scripting
? Expert level skills in Shell/Perl scripting
? Proficient in PERL or AWK/SED, Unix/Linux string manipulation tools
? Experience of working in a team that delivers a high availability service
? Experience in monitoring and automation of system administration tasks
? Understanding of IP technologies and methodologies and proven ability to troubleshoot problems at
different layers of the application, server and network stack
? Flexible and willing to work in a dynamic environment with new challenges and evolving priorities on
a weekly basis
? Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently
? Ability to create and modify automation scripts that interact with Oracle databases, including
monitoring, backup and recovery
? Assist DBA’s in database recovery testing
