The Application Security Architect (ASA) position provides design recommendations based primarily on long-term IT strategy. The ASA designs enterprise level application and information security architectures and solutions. The ASA serves as a security expert in application development, database design, and network and/or platform projects and efforts. The ASA researches, designs, and advocates new technologies, architectures, and security products that support security requirements for the enterprise and its customers, business partners, and vendors. The ASA is part of the Enterprise Architecture team and collaborates with its team members and other functional area architects and security specialists to define and maintain an architecture methodology, architecture principles, architecture roadmap, and architecture standards and best practices. The focus of the ASA position is to provide an enterprise level application security framework that will address the overarching view of application security, while integrating enterprise IT security policies, and legal/regulatory compliance needs. The ASA will help to create and maintain the application security framework, application and data security models, and technology foundations to enable secured applications and protect business processes and information resources.

Education Required:

A bachelor’s degree with preference in computer science or business field. Experience beyond the minimum work experience requirement can be substituted for college hours on a year-for-year basis.

Qualifications: 

Experience/Skills Required:

At least 7 to 10 years combined experience in IT application and/or security roles inclusive of a minimum of 5 years experience with a demonstrated aptitude in leading application security initiatives in complex business and technical environments. Candidate must be proficient in understanding business requirements and all areas of technology risk, including: information security, business continuity, and operational risk.

Preferred Qualifications:

CISSP preferred.
