Job Description:
The Database Administrator will be responsible for database support of COTS applications which includes implementation, maintenance, and ongoing support with a production environment. The database administrator (DBA) proactively monitors all production databases to ensure system availability and performance; performs upgrades to Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server, including frequent patching and new database creation; and will work closely with data/business owners to ensure proper sizing and performance tuning is performed in a pro-active manner. The ideal candidate will be providing problem solving, reporting, resolution, and/or escalation.
Preferences:
• Microsoft SQL Server Certification
• Experience administering large Microsoft SQL Server databases
• Experience with SQL query and database internal tuning
• Experience with ETL operations across other database platform (Oracle & MySQL)
• Experience with configuration of proactive monitoring and alerting using IDERA
• Experience with database replication and disaster recovery
• Experience installing & configuring cluster databases
• ITIL Certification, training or experience in an ITIL environment
• Someone who has held a senior role or led a team of DBA’s
• Great communication skills
• Experience with critical 24x7 applications
