tea

I was listening to a really cool podcast called "No agenda" with Adam Curry and John C Dvorak and they've been ranting for weeks about British tea. After hearing this repeatedly, I went to Central Market and bought some "PG Tips" tea and then went to the bulk section and got some awesome teas called "buccaneer". Is the tea thing coming back. Any tea drinkers here? Please don't hammer me for tea not being tech talk, because I heard this on a near-tech show.

If its caffeinated it can be construed as techie related. I have an occasional hankering for the kind of tea served at good Chinese restaurants... I think it usually has Ginseng in it.

The tea bar at Central Market is pretty awesome.... they have lots of these kinds of Chinese teas in bulk.

I think the H-E-B at Parmer and I35 does also, it is sort of a mini-Central Market. The place to go for Chinese stuff is the H-E-B at Parmer and Mopac though, if not the Asian market near Lamar and Braker.

Central Market is HEB, with no rules.

I'll stick with Constant Comment. Great tasting tea.

Tea has been on its way back for years but Austin has been slow to embrace it. While there are a couple of tea shops in Austin, they aren't conducive to a good cuppa. I'd really love finding a tea shop with a more coffee lounge atmosphere.

PG Tips now has a "premium" edition, though I can't seem to find it at Central Market or Whole Foods, maybe I'll try that tea specialty shop on First Street or order it online.
