One of my most valuable tools among my network of friends and business associates is my del.icio.us social bookmarking site. It is one of the most invaluable online tools.
I tag a lot of things http://del.icio.us/springnet/austin
And I rely a lot on my "subscriptions" and "network" for fresh new ideas and concepts on a daily basis.

You know, that is one site I have never really used. How do you personally benefit from it?

I use del.icio.us all the time to tag various cool web sites I've stumbled across. I put in my own tags for the site. Then, 6 months later, when I sort of remember reading something about a given topic, I go look through my tags. It really does work for me - I'm able to find useful information much easier than with just browser bookmarks. I don't use the network or the subscription features.
You might find my del.icio.us tags marked del.icio.us if you're looking for new ways to use it.

Thanks much. I need to look into it some more. There were a few instances where I used del.icio.us to search (versus Google) because I wanted content that humans decided was useful via tags.

I spend 3/4s of my time on del.icio.us and a 1/4 th on google when it comes to search. I tried developing a tag base search engine but it became too complex to deal with http://tagslides.com
I like the way del.icio.us let's you subscribe to tags and also to build a network of folks who are tagging things similar to your interests.
You might want to consider looking at Google's Notebook. Much like del.icio.us, you can keep bookmarks. But I take it a step further and make notes with important paragraphs, links, pictures, etc. You can also use Notebook to to create to do lists, create tags, and if you want, export it to Google Docs so you can print the document. You have to install an add-on (works with Firefox and IE, maybe others too).
I believe you can publish notes, too, but I've never tried that feature.

I got started with google notebook but kind of dropped the ball... I need to start using this again.
I'm still getting my feet wet with these bookmarking sites. Thank you for the info about google notebook.

http://mahalo.com now has a pretty good contender to del.icio.us and digg but it's too early in the game to call them a winner. I recently became a paid editor on mahalo though I haven't seen dime one yet.
