Kit - Car of the Future

I'm watching the reincarnation of the old Knight Rider tv show, about Kit the car of the future. They've updated it a bit, I don't the the original Kit had gps or as sophisticated a computer system that could access security cameras.
Which begs the question: technologically, environmentally what is your ideal car now and in the future? Let your imagination run wild.

Interesting, door64 spit out a bug right after I posted this topic, verbatim:

Maybe it's a message from Kit?
I think Kitt is accessing Door64 and knows you are talking about him... be careful...

"Michael.....Michael...?"
Whoops. No idea, honestly. But I suppose that's better than a blinking "You're the 100,000th visitor!" banner.
I caught the new Knight Rider the other night, and it wasn't too bad. I used to watch the old version when I was a kid and loved it. Looking back on it as an adult, it always seemed kind of gimmicky. No doubt, that is the future of vehicles (to some degree), where we won't drive, but the computers will do all that for us... I just hope they're not using Microsoft as an OS or we're all screwed.
BTW, my ideal car now is an M-1 Abrams Tank... nobody cuts off a guy driving a tank. :) As for the future... I've always hoped they wouldn't be so necessary. It would be cool if Scotty was beaming us around. Live in Austin, go to your office in London for work, then return home for dinner.

I caught a part of the Knight Rider episode. My difficulty was that the person behind the wheel should be "Michael", not "Mike". Was funny to see the Hoff make an appearance. "Hi, I'm your dad. Well, gotta go."
I was having the same problem. There are some roles that cannot be played by anyone else. When I think of Superman, I think of Christopher Reeve. Knight Rider = The Hoff.
Did you notice they used a different voice for KITT? I read somewhere that the actor who did the old voice couldn't be used because he does voice over work for a competing car company. So they got Madmartigan to do it (Val Kilmer).

I don't know why I like the old version, probably because I thought the car was cool. KITT is still pretty cool. Do you think they will make a series out of it?

The end of the TV movie was open-ended, so I think they would like to to make a series.

My cousin Jean's husband, who passed away a few years ago, was the producer of the original Knight Rider. When I visited him in LA is car was as close as you could come to Kitt. Back then.
He also produced Dragnet, Adam 12, Hawaii Five-0 and Emergency. His name was Bob Cinader and I'd say he had a pretty good run of shows.
Heck yeah, that's a great run. The Universal Studios theme park in California had a KITT car when I went out there in the 80's. I got a chance to sit in it, which was a highlight of that vacation for me; I was 8 years old, what could be cooler?
