Expert level mastery of Excel

Background information

I'm so proficient with Excel that I'm offering free advice via email. If you want to know if something can be done cheaply in Excel, ask me. If it is simple enough, I'll even send you a working implementation. Email explanations are free, but in-person training can also be worked out. (In a 'you provide the questions, I'll provide some answers' type of format.)

8/1995 – 9/1998; Intercraft; C/S Information Specialist; Taylor, TX
Used Excel for complex data analysis, including the automation of spreadsheet-solutions that imported data from external sources (such as a Unix database-generated file). Wrote Excel-based report mining "language" used to extract specific fields from computer generated reports for inclusion in master operational report. Used Excel to interface with Rumba in order to allow for custom scripting results in restrictive TN3270 environment.

9/1998 – 7/2000; Sourcewright; Contractor; Pflugerville, TX
Updated Excel/TN3270 bridge to use screen scraping DLL, as implemented by Chameleon, and provided Excel environment that could be used to write 'scripts' that could process and upload data into new TN3270 environment.

5/2005 – 4/2008; Platinum Processing Services, Inc.; Austin, TX
Used Excel to automate processing transaction data provided by various web sites. More data analysis and simple spreadsheet scripts created to "file" line items under appropriately named tabs. (Simple stuff, really, but it goes a long way to helping administrative tasks stay organized for future data import into a database-driven application.)

For the patient person that would read this entire post, here is a free tip: It is known that Excel has a scripting component for automating tasks within the application. There is a command in it, sendkeys, however, that can even communicate with other non-Microsoft applications, allowing for even more automation possibilities.

My automation capabilities don't end with Excel. I have a wide range of tricks for getting applications that don't normally talk to work together.
