Job description:

Freescale is seeking qualified candidates for development of software for microprocessor simulation to assist computer architects in the early development and evaluation of Power™ microarchitecture or microarchitectural mechanisms from the standpoint of performance, power, and/or reliability. In this position you are expected to work independently or in close collaboration with a computer architect to specify, implement, and validate technical solutions in the above domain.

Qualifications:

To qualify for this position you must have a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent, and more than 5 years of relevant experience including:

- Excellent working knowledge of microprocessor architecture and hardware design
- Hands-on experience with trace- and execution-driven simulation methodologies
- Familiarity with Power™ architecture and/or microarchitecture would be a strong plus
- Knowledge of compilers and operating systems
- Experience with embedded operating systems and networking applications would be a strong plus
- Good verbal and presentation skills
- Programming skills (C, C++, Perl)
- Experience with academic or other design and modeling environments
- Multi-core and multi-threading programming models would be a strong selling point
- Experience with power modeling would be an added advantage
- A background in hardware design and knowledge of HDLs such as Verilog would be an added advantage
