Job description:

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
Provide software expertise to Product Engineering for the system level testing of microprocessors from product definition through product qualification and high volume production.

SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Development, debug, and validation of new software programs and diagnostics on system level test platforms.
2. Development and implementation of package test programs, supporting hardware, characterization, yield improvement, and cost reduction.
3. Support silicon validation, characterization, and debug of existing and new microprocessor products.
4. Support product improvement activities, including cost reduction, yield improvement, and resolving quality/customer test related issues.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED SKILLS:
1. Familiar with Microsoft standard apps (i.e. Office), Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Linux or Unix Operating Systems
2. Familiar with C/C++ and other software programming languages (prefer XML, assembly)
3. Familiar with general Computer Architecture concepts (such as pipelining and caching)
4. Courses in Digital Logic, Device Physics, and basic Circuit Theory

PREFERRED SKILLS:
1. Understand BIOS
2. Familiar with building computer systems (desktops, laptops, servers, etc)
3. Familiar with using logic analyzers, voltmeters, oscilloscopes, etc.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A technology related Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Requires 5+ years experience in Test, Product Engineering, or System Level testing.
