Science, Math, and Robotics Technology (SMART) Camp

An introduction to building robots
with LEGO® Mindstorms kits.
A day of fun and learning
led by experienced members
of the award-winning LASA Robotics Team.

Camp Location:
Liberal Arts and Science Academy at LBJ High School

Middle-School Camp (for grades 6-9, with NO Mindstorms experience)
Full day
August 23, 9 am - 5 pm
Lunch and snacks included
$40
Projects: Build basic rolling bot and explore features; build rover bot with simple sensors; load and run basic program; build complex bot with multiple sensors; program complex bot; open-ended mini-challenge. Uses RCX kits and RoboLab.

SPECIAL Advanced Camp (for grades 6-9, *with* Mindstorms experience)
Full day
August 23, 9 am - 5 pm
Lunch and snacks included
$45
An open-ended design challenge suitable for kids with some Mindstorms experience. Challenge will be similar to that used in LASA "Advanced Tech" classes. Uses NXT kits.
