Market Development Associate (US)

Location: Austin, TX
Job Type: Full-time, salaried with benefits, incentive compensation, and stock options
Total Compensation: Target of $60,000–$80,000 but uncapped for high performers

Bazaarvoice is looking for an extraordinarily talented individual to join our world-class sales team. You have to be the type of person that craves a challenge and is unafraid to constantly push yourself outside your zone of comfort. A startup is not for the meek, but you will learn as much working here in three months as you would most companies in a year.

We are looking for a unique market developer. You must be able to self-start and process hundreds of suspects into leads for our various solutions. Motivation and energy are the name of the game. In order to be successful at Bazaarvoice in this role you need many skills, including:

1. Being confident in positioning a high-ROI solution that will cost the client over $125,000 per year
2. Demonstrating the value propositions of our products and services
3. Managing the hundreds of suspects in Salesforce.com to accurately and efficiently process all opportunities
4. Excelling at qualifying each opportunity properly to ensure the right level of follow through and commitment
5. Working with our industry leading partners to drive mutual benefit and lead generation
6. Executing at 110% to achieve your quarterly quota of web meetings generated

The ideal candidate is someone who has experience in processing market development suspects into leads and has significant experience in both calling and email prospects. You MUST be comfortable on the phone and making 30+ calls a day in order to achieve target. If you don’t have this background you will need to convince us that you have the ability to learn these ropes quickly and bring a perspective that can easily be adapted.

Finally, we are looking for a candidate that is extraordinarily bright and flexible. The best people in early-stage companies usually end up serving in multiple roles over a brief period of time. Flexibility and a desire to constantly learn and push yourself is absolutely required to succeed in this environment.
