REPower Education, or why send kids to Engineering Schools that cannot produce their own energy?

I found this site through a connection at LinkedIn; I am hoping to become part of the community through employment as an education/energy consultant. How many engineering schools are there in this country/hemisphere, and what are they teaching the next generation of engineers about a sustainable future, by purchasing power from the outside contractors? Should not the schools in Austin or the rest of the state be learning about windpower education by becoming producers of the State's most abundant energy source?

To see the scope of windpower developments in Texas, visit www.GreenEnergyTV.com

There is a video newscast of the Boone Pickens development near Abilene, that will put Texas ahead of every other State in the transition from Oil to Windpower. Join the Revolution...send us your comments.

Very nice - thanks for the

Very nice - thanks for the site link. I had actually seen the Beyond Tomorrow episode regarding the air-powered vehicles. Truly amazing. I was also interested in the personal vertical wind turbines which require very little real estate for the power they produce. Right now the cost is prohibitive, but as long as gas prices remain high, competition in this space can drive the prices down to generally affordable levels.

As an aside, electrical engineers are indeed taught about saving power, but in terms of reducing power consumption on chips for mobile applications. But regardless of the reason, it's still about saving energy (the longer a battery lasts, the less it needs to be recharged, yielding less average energy consumption over a long period of time).
