2008 Annual Seminar for HR Professionals:

“FSA’s, HRA’s, and HSA’s—What fits us Best?”
You’ve heard the words – sounds like a new insurance alphabet – FSAs, HRAs, and HSAs. But, what plan will work best for your employer benefit plan? There are advantages and disadvantages of all three programs. Don’t jump into the alphabet soup without understanding how the programs work and the employer responsibilities of each. January 1, 2007 brought enhancements to the HSA programs – very good changes but, the HSAs still might not be the best for you and your employees – they just don’t fit for everyone. This seminar provides a side by side comparison of FSA, HRA and HSA plans – funding, administration, and liabilities – a guide to help you make an educated decision.

“Federal Health Legislation, Health Care Reform & The Road to the 2008 Elections”
What is the current status of health care issues in Congress? What is the political landscape in Washington that will have an impact on Health Care? Let’s discuss reform and how all this relates to the 2008 elections.

“Making Sense of FMLA”
This presentation provides an overview of a complex and challenging area of employment and benefits compliance, which will enable participants to return to their organizations and evaluate their current benefits and leave administration. Additionally, the session will discuss recent updates to the FMLA, such as the expansion for military families.

Retirement
An employer that decides to sponsor a qualified retirement plan for its employees must be aware of the responsibilities that it is undertaking. For certain employers, one of those responsibilities is complying with the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974. Among its many rules, ERISA prescribes various fiduciary obligations that must be satisfied. This presentation summarizes some of the major fiduciary obligations under ERISA. It also provides some suggestions on how to reduce the risks of breaching fiduciary duties and mitigating the liability that might ensue as a result of a breach.

“Why are employers implementing wellness programs?”
In 2005 the US spent $2 trillion on healthcare, at $ 6,683 per person, employers paid more than one third of the cost. 50% of today’s health care costs are attributable to health risks that can be modified by lifestyle behaviors such as diet and activity.

“What is Limeaide?”
"Smart Integration, EAP, Wellness and ROI." AWP and Limeade have formed an alliance to promote the University of Michigan analytic model; evidence-based wellness strategies; clusters of risk; attitudinal, behavioral and well-being factors as predicates for wellness; keeping "the well" well. They will demonstrate practical integration and application of EAP and Wellness programs to produce measurable cost-containment and return-on-investment.

“Finding efficient, effective ways to manage musculoskeletal injuries.”
Finding efficient and effective ways to manage costly musculoskeletal injuries can be a challenge. With current low surgical success rates, unpredictable yet expensive imaging, and extended therapy visits, employers need provider relationships that deliver consistent and measurable results. Airrosti’s highly specific hands-on diagnosis and treatment model addresses the anatomical portion of musculoskeletal injuries, which allows for a safer, quicker, and lasting recovery.
