Job description:

The core development team in Austin is seeking an integration engineer with 7+ years of custom chip Integration/Composition experience. This is a key position to be a senior member of a team to develop and close the physical and electrical aspects of a multi-GHz leading edge microprocessor core. The candidate will work alongside the front end team in order to close all aspects of the core from floorplanning, bus and repeater management, using a customized high performance P&R environment, optimization for timing/area/power, and through physical/electrical/timing closure. Looking for a self-starter with aggressive problem solving skills to join an equally experienced team delivering Sun's next generation CMT microprocessor core.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: Related Microprocessor design disciplines such as circuit design, logic design, and layout a plus. Good working knowledge of scripting languages (Perl, TCL) is highly desirable.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Experience with physical back end tools and processes for integrating leading edge processor designs. Specific knowledge and hands on experience with industry standard tools such as Synopsys DC, DC-T, Astro, ICC-PC, ICC, Primetime, as well as Opus and Calibre required.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE: Overall knowledge of the industry practices in integration of high performance designs. Specific knowledge in P&R, noise, EMIR, Power, Clocking, timing closure and layout is preferred. Familiarity with static timing analysis of high frequency designs preferred.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 7-10
MINIMUM LEVEL OF EDUCATION: BS Degree
