Head DBA retained for project consisting of 3 Microsoft SQL Server 2000 clusters, 12 stand-alone SQL Server instances, and 3 Oracle 10g RAC 2-node implementations. Involved from the concept to production phase. All 10g implementations used Oracle ASM.

Retained as lead DBA for design and implementation of central enterprise solution for backup and recovery of all databases using Rman and Tivoli TSM. Environment consisted of over 35 distributed production SQL Server and 40 Oracle databases.

Lead DBA for migration of 4.3TB data warehouse from Oracle 8i on HP-UX to 9i on AIX 5.3.
Project responsibilities included: Oracle tablespace structure and sizing, physical migration of data with minimal system downtime, analysis and implementation of 9i Oracle features to improve system performance (partitioning, compression, materialized views, etc.), backup and recovery testing for new Oracle environment, re-architecting of job control from a shell script based “token” method to integration with job enterprise job scheduling software,

Primary DBA on project to convert Peoplesoft HRMS database MVS/DB2 to Oracle 8i on AIX. System serves over 25,000 corporate employees for tracking of hours, report generation, and paycheck printing.

Planned, documented and performed over a hundred database installations, upgrades, patches and migrations for Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and Sybase databases on numerous operating systems.

Extensive experience in writing stored procedures, cursors, and triggers using both PL/SQL and Transact-SQL.

Developed standard database scripts to allow for user access auditing for SOX compliance.

Lead DBA for conversion of 850 GB data warehouse from Sybase SQL Server to Oracle.

Developed database growth estimation code for forecasting future SAN space requirements.

Wrote numerous UNIX based shell scripts to automate and standardize job processing, database monitoring, tablespace growth monitoring, and other database maintenance tasks.

Cross-trained junior DBA team members in Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL Server and Informix.

Developed PERL scripting for job control interfacing with Control M Enterprise Monitoring Software.
