Agility and Product Development; How to Achieve it Using Real World Examples
The biggest leadership challenge in making the "agile leap" is not agile team development techniques at all - in fact, it is seeing and understanding the implications that iterative software development can have on the entire product development value chain. How development priorities are sequenced, how project governance is conducted, how working culture is changed, how people are trained and motivated are just several significant areas. Unless leaders are aware of this, and make provision for appropriate attention to these policies, processes and practices, agile development does not achieve its full value add potential.
In this thought leadership presentation, Bud will cover a holistic and lean thinking oriented framework for determining how to achieve agility in a development value chain. This framework covers business goals, development performance and measures, "soft" management and people behaviors, and leads to prescriptions on how best to launch and achieve agile transformation. By using examples from his experiences, he will offer practical advice and thinking for how to approach and successfully transform development value chains.
