Companies may select Austin Community College interns from the Renewable Energy Degree Program

The Texas Workforce Commission is providing $600 stipends for interns for the Spring 2009 semester. The Renewable Energy Business Internship Orientation Day will be held Nov. 20, 2008, from 11:30-1:30 –lunch included- providing companies the chance to ask questions and make final intern selections. Resumes will be sent out prior to the meeting for employers to review, so you must contact Cecilia Galliano (see below)prior to the orientation. This is a great opportunity to help train the emerging renewable energy job force in the state of Texas. If you are interested in attending the event and obtaining resumes, please RSVP:

So what exactly does a "renewable energy intern" do? What do they teach in that degree program? Seems like a pretty broad field... do they specialize in Wind turbines? Eco-fuels? Hydroelectric? Solar cells? Or is it a political or marketing thing only?
