I've done a bit of programming and design in various formats over time, from BASIC (way back) to HyperCard to Java to Flash. I currently mostly do scripting for simple web forms & such, but I'd really love to get back into interactive design with Flash or Scratch, or maybe learn Python or Ruby. I haven't met a language I couldn't learn.

Instructional design is sometimes interchangeable with curriculum design, pedagogy, &/or learning theory.
It can be applied to training exercises, "lesson plans," scripts, interactive multimedia, and public speaking.

I have done all of these. I received formal training under some of these names (including an M.Ed.), but the similarities are more important than the differences.
