I bumped into a person I went to college with, who was working at a company that I had not really considered in my job search. He volunteered to take my resume, and I didn't expect much to come of it. But as luck would have it, the company was considering opening up a position for someone with my background, and I got a call from HR the next week. I ended up doing a formal interview the following week, for a job that was not even posted. I'm definitely a convert to the door64 networking events.
